“The world was hers and then it fell apart again…”
Has it really been 25 years since the NME’s C86 tape? This recent Quietus article reminds me that it has. Crazy. Absolutely crazy. I must have listened to “Velocity Girl” at least a thousand times in that span (truly one of my all-time faves).
Having read the article, I noticed that this classic historical document is not readily available for download anywhere. So, let me right that wrong and post it here. For the younger generation - beware, there is a lot here that will sound like crap outside of the context of the time (read the article). But, gems from the likes of Primal Scream, The Soup Dragons, and The Wedding Present (at a bare minimum) still have some cross-generational worth. I hope you dig it. Enjoy.
